Walter White: Who are you talking to now?

Line of Events

A chemistry teacher diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer starts making and selling meth to a former student to secure his family’s future. Celebrate the beloved Breaking Bad series by revisiting some of its most memorable scenes. Jesse Pinkman was originally supposed to be written out of the show in Episode 9. During the hiatus due to the writers’ strike, creator Vince Gilligan, impressed by Aaron Paul’s portrayal of Jesse and everyone just liking Paul, decided to bring the character back and pass Jesse’s fate on to another character in the Season 1 finale. In the opening credits, the letters in the cast and crew’s last names are highlighted in green to represent chemical elements. However, the “Ch” in Michael Slovis’ name was highlighted in several early episodes, even though Ch is not a chemical element. In later episodes, only the letter “C” (for Carbon) is highlighted.

Ceases to exist, without me

Who do you think you see? Do you know how much I make in a year? Even if I told you, you wouldn’t believe me. Do you know what would happen if I suddenly decided to stop going to work? A business big enough to be listed on the NASDAQ fails. Disappears. No, you clearly don’t know who you’re talking to, so let me enlighten you.

I AM danger

I’m not in danger, Skyler. A guy opens the door and gets shot, and you think that about me? No! I’m the one knocking! The opening credits use chemical symbols from the periodic table as part of the names: bromine (Br) and barium (Ba) in the title, none for creator Vince Gilligan (except when he gets a V for vanadium), one for the cast and crew. All episodes have been repeated on cable on demand in some areas, commercial-free, but with additional scenes not included on AMC. Edited into CollegeHumor Originals: Breaking Bad/Walking Dead Mash-Up (2013).

Dead Fingers Talkingby Working in a Nuclear Free City

I have never watched a show that is as consistently authentic and engaging as Breaking Bad. It is undoubtedly one of the best shows ever made and it consistently improves as it progresses. The journeys of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman are unforgettable. They are some of the best written characters ever created in this great newspaper. My praise for the acting and cinematography is endless. Some of the shots are intricate works of art and I was rarely distracted by the acting. The performances are excellent to the point where it is hardly appropriate to call them performances.

If you have mixed feelings about Season 1, trust me, it only goes uphill from there

Overall, Breaking Bad consistently maintains a level of commitment and technical quality seen only in the best films and when it comes to tone, every intense moment is executed with excellence and always achieves the expected impact. I found the show’s plot to be lacking in complexity in the early seasons as there are not many plot threads and the beginning is a bit slow, but Breaking Bad is an absolute must-see. If ever there was a series that could be called perfect, I think this might be it.
