Troubled father Leon takes his son camping in Appalachia. A local cult summons the evil demon Hangman. The son disappears. Leon must confront the cult, a monster, to find him amidst a growing body count. During the climactic fight with The Hangman after Leon fails to pull the pin on a grenade (the safety lever is clearly still in place). It wouldn’t have exploded, he would have done better if he had hit him with it… Leon: What’s up, Toots?. Leon takes his son Jesse camping in West Virginia. He wakes up the next morning to find his son missing. He navigates the racist local population and the demonic presence killing his victims with his ropes. This part actually works on a low budget level. The lead is a functional average-looking father. The film struggles when it attempts high-intensity supernatural visuals. They don’t have the budget or camera skills to do it right. It looks cheap and not even in a fun camp style. One understands the limitations.
